stuff about teeth?

survey question of the day:
* have you had your wisdom teeth removed?
if so,
* how many days did it knock out of your schedule?
* how painful was it afterwards?

(i currently have 3 of them in, and probably need 2 of them removed... NOT excited... actually, moderately freaked out is a more apt description...)

i had two wisdom teeth removed (i only had two uppers come in). Both were impacted and required surgery (and not just being pulled) to be removed.

I had it done over Christmas break during undergrad one year.

How quickly you recover depends on a number of factors. Which two will be removed? upper or lowers? Uppers are actually easier because they tend to not need to be cleaned to prevent 'dry socket'.

If they are impacted and required to be cut out instead of pulled, you will have stiches to deal with--but that's not a huge deal. They also said to not eat solid foods for a few days, but i was actually eating chicken noodle soup and bread the night of the surgery (i had the surgery early in the morning) because the thought of another popsicle was enough to make me sick.

i didn't have any bruising(which i think is more relevant to having them pulled). and other than the annoying stiches, didn't really have any intense pain or life disruption. I was at work the next day (i worked as a cashier in a store at the time).

It all just depends on you, I guess. I wish i could be more helpfull--but it's all subjective.

good luck, though.
