i did a bunch more than i would have had i been at home minding my own business, but it wasn't stress-filled at all.
jessica and i hadn't hung out since new years, and now, being BEFORE the REU, moreover today being one of the rare times jessica had an afternoon free from both of her 2 jobs, i drove down to philly and met up with her when she got off work after 2.
our main event was going to King of Prussia, which is apparently the 2nd largest mall in the country (after mall of america of course)... it was a fun time... we saw "the longest yard", which was quite entertaining, and then wandered around and did some shopping. i ended up with a discount rack DVD, jessica with some clothes... dinner at a little mexican place that was, as jessica commented, "like baja fresh without the pretense of being healthy for you"... after some more wandering we found some really cool earrings at macys (not that i can change mine out until july, but you know... ), and since they were half off, we each got 2 pair... we each got one copy of the same pair that was really cool and one that was different. (for the one we both got, see the leftmost pair here, only imagine it in silver with blue beads and a tiny spring around part of it too instead of just beads... that probably made no sense :-P)
anyhow, it was a pretty free form day, but it was worth it. we saw a lot and each ended up with a few things to take home from the day.
after shopping, we went back to jessica's and chatted for awhile. i've said it time and again, but it's fantastic to be able to keep in touch with people who have known you through a few eras of your life. for high school friends it's going on 10 years that we've known each other, so being able to drive an hour and a half away and connect with someone i know from memphis, is always a good thing. :-) we chat about the most random stuff, and i always have a great time.
i think i'm done rambling... here's two random pictures from the evening:

oh! and i looked for it, but the "trenton makes, the world takes" bridge was not lit up when i drove through! what's up with that? (confused? see here for a brief jersey history lesson)
really, that's it... night y'all!
